THERE IS NO GREATER POWER in the world today thanthat wielded by the manipulators of public opinion inAmerica. No king or pope of old, no conquering general orhigh priest ever disposed of a power even remotely approachingthat of the few dozen men who control America’s massmedia of news and entertainment.Their power is not distant and impersonal; it reachesinto every home in America, and it works its will duringnearly every waking hour. It is the power that shapes andmolds the mind of virtually every citizen, young or old, richor poor, simple or sophisticated.The mass media form for us our image of the world andthen tell us what to think about that image. Essentially everythingwe know—or think we know—about events outsideour own neighborhood or circle of acquaintances comesto us via our daily newspaper, our weekly news magazine,our radio, or our television.It is not just the heavy-handed suppression of certainnews stories from our newspapers or the blatant propagandizingof history-distorting TV “docudramas” that characterizesthe opinion-manipulating techniques of the mediamasters. They exercise both subtlety and thoroughness intheir management of the news and the entertainment thatthey present to us.For example, the way in which the news is covered:which items are emphasized and which are played down;the reporter’s choice of words, tone of voice, and facial expressions;the wording of headlines; the choice of illustrations—all of these things subliminally and yet profoundlyaffect the way in which we interpret what we see or hear.On top of this, of course, the columnists and editorsremove any remaining doubt from our minds as to justwhat we are to think about it all. Employing carefullydeveloped psychological techniques, they guide ourthought and opinion so that we can be in tune with the“in” crowd, the “beautiful people,” the “smart money.”They let us know exactly what our attitudes should betoward various types of people and behavior by placingthose people or that behavior in the context of a TV dramaor situation comedy and having the other TV charactersreact in the Politically Correct way.Molding American MindsFor example, a racially mixed couple will be respected,liked, and socially sought after by other characters, as willa “take charge” Black scholar or businessman, or a sensitiveand talented homosexual, or a poor but honest andhardworking illegal alien from Mexico. On the other hand,a White racist—that is, any racially conscious White personwho looks askance at miscegenation or at the rapidlydarkening racial situation in America—is portrayed, at best,as a despicable bigot who is reviled by the other characters,or, at worst, as a dangerous psychopath who is fascinatedby firearms and is a menace to all law-abiding citizens.The White racist “gun nut,” in fact, has become a familiarstereotype on TV shows.The average American, of whose daily life TV-watchingtakes such an unhealthy portion, distinguishes betweenthese fictional situations and reality only with difficulty, ifat all. He responds to the televised actions, statements, andattitudes of TV actors much as he does to his own peers inreal life. For all too many Americans the real world hasbeen replaced by the false reality of the TV environment,and it is to this false reality that his urge to conform responds.Thus, when a TV scriptwriter expresses approvalof some ideas and actions through the TV characters forwhom he is writing, and disapproval of others, he exerts apowerful pressure on millions of viewers toward conformitywith his own views.And as it is with TV entertainment, so it is also with thenews, whether televised or printed. The insidious thing aboutthis form of thought control is that even when we realizethat entertainment or news is biased, the media masters stillare able to manipulate most of us. This is because they notonly slant what they present, but also they establish tacitboundaries and ground rules for the permissible spectrumof opinion.As an example, consider the media treatment of MiddleEast news. Some editors or commentators are slavishly pro-Israel in their every utterance, while others seem nearly neutral.No one, however, dares suggest that the U.S.government is backing the wrong side in the Arab-Jewishconflict, or that 9-11 was a result of that support. Nor doesanyone dare suggest that it served Jewish interests, ratherthan American interests, to send U.S. forces to cripple Iraq,Israel’s principal rival in the Middle East. Thus, a spectrumof permissible opinion, from pro-Israel to nearly neutral, isestablished.Another example is the media treatment of racial issuesin the United States. Some commentators seem almost dispassionatein reporting news of racial strife, while othersare emotionally partisan—with the partisanship always onthe non-White side. All of the media spokesmen withoutexception, however, take the position that “multiculturalism”and racial mixing are here to stay and that they are goodthings.Who Rules America?by the research staff of National Vanguard Books; Kevin Alfred Strom, Media Director3Because there are differences indegree, however, most Americansfail to realize that they are being manipulated.Even the citizen whocomplains about “managed news”falls into the trap of thinking thatbecause he is presented with an apparentspectrum of opinion he canescape the thought controllers’ influenceby believing the editor orcommentator of his choice. It’s a“heads I win, tails you lose” situation.Every point on the permissiblespectrum of public opinion is acceptableto the media masters—and noimpermissible fact or viewpoint isallowed any exposure at all, if theycan prevent it.The control of the opinion-moldingmedia is nearly monolithic. Allof the controlled media—television,radio, newspapers, magazines, books, motion pictures—speak with a single voice, each reinforcing the other. Despitethe appearance of variety, there is no real dissent, noalternative source of facts or ideas accessible to the greatmass of people that might allow them to form opinions atodds with those of the media masters. They are presentedwith a single view of the world—a world in which everyvoice proclaims the equality of the races, the inerrant natureof the Jewish “Holocaust” tale, the wickedness of attemptingto halt the flood of non-White aliens pouring acrossour borders, the danger of permitting citizens to keep andbear arms, the moral equivalence of all sexual orientations,and the desirability of a “pluralistic,” cosmopolitan societyrather than a homogeneous, White one. It is a view of theworld designed by the media masters to suit their own ends—and the pressure to conform to that view is overwhelming.People adapt their opinions to it, vote in accord with it, andshape their lives to fit it.And who are these all-powerful masters of the media?As we shall see, to a very large extent they are Jews. It isn’tsimply a matter of the media being controlled by profithungrycapitalists, some of whom happen to be Jews. Ifthat were the case, the ethnicity of the media masters wouldreflect, at least approximately, the ratio of rich Gentiles torich Jews. Despite a few prominent exceptions, the preponderanceof Jews in the media is so overwhelming that weare obliged to assume that it is due to more than mere happenstance.Electronic News and Entertainment MediaContinuing government deregulation of the telecommunicationsindustry has resulted, not in the touted increaseof competition, but rather in an accelerating waveof corporate mergers and acquisitionsthat have produced a handfulof multi-billion-dollar media conglomerates.The largest of theseconglomerates are rapidly growingeven bigger by consuming theircompetition, almost tripling in sizeduring the 1990s. Whenever youwatch television, whether from alocal broadcasting station or viacable or a satellite dish; wheneveryou see a feature film in a theateror at home; whenever you listen tothe radio or to recorded music;whenever you read a newspaper,book, or magazine—it is verylikely that the information or entertainmentyou receive was producedand/or distributed by one ofthese megamedia companies:Time Warner. The largest mediaconglomerate today is Time Warner (briefly called AOLTimeWarner; the AOL was dropped from the name whenaccounting practices at the AOL division were questionedby government investigators), which reached its current formwhen America Online bought Time Warner for $160 billionin 2000. The combined company had revenue of $39.5 billionin 2003. The merger brought together Steve Case, aGentile, as chairman of AOL-Time Warner, and GeraldLevin, a Jew, as the CEO. Warner, founded by the JewishWarner brothers in the early part of the last century, rapidlybecame part of the Jewish power base in Hollywood, a factso well-known that it is openly admitted by Jewish authors,as is the fact that each new media acquisition becomes dominatedby Jews in turn: Speaking of the initial merger of Time,Inc. with Warner, Jewish writer Michael Wolff said in NewYork magazine in 2001 “since Time Inc.’s merger withWarner ten years ago, one of the interesting transitions isthat it has become a Jewish company.” (“From AOL to W,”New York magazine, January 29, 2001)The third most powerful man at AOL-Time Warner,at least on paper, was Vice Chairman Ted Turner, a WhiteGentile. Turner had traded his Turner Broadcasting System,which included CNN, to Time Warner in 1996 for alarge block of Time Warner shares. By April 2001 Levinhad effectively fired Ted Turner, eliminating him fromany real power. However, Turner remained a very largeand outspoken shareholder and member of the board ofdirectors.Levin overplayed his hand, and in a May 2002 showdown,he was fired by the company’s board. For Ted Turner,who had lost $7 billion of his $9 billion due to Levin’s mismanagement,it was small solace. Turner remains an outsiderwith no control over the inner workings of the company.Peter Chernin of Fox: Without thecheerleading of Fox News, the Iraq Warwould have been a much harder sell to theAmerican people.4Also under pressure, Steve Case resigned effective in May2003. The board replaced both Levin and Case with a Black,Richard Parsons. Behind Parsons the Jewish influence andpower remains dominant.AOL is the largest Internet service provider in theworld, with 34 million U.S. subscribers. It is now beingused as an online platform for the Jewish content fromTime Warner. Jodi Kahn and Meg Siesfeld, both Jews,lead the Time Inc. Interactive team under executive editorNed Desmond, a White Gentile. All three report toTime Inc. editor-in-chief Norman Pearlstine, a Jew. Theirjob is to transfer Time Warner’s content to target specificsegments of America Online’s audience, especiallywomen, children, and teens.Time Warner was already the second largest of theinternational media leviathans when it merged with AOL.Time Warner’s subsidiary HBO (26 million subscribers)is the nation’s largest pay-TV cable network. HBO’s“competitor” Cinemax is another of Time Warner’s manycable ventures.Until the purchase in May 1998 of PolyGram by Jewishbillionaire Edgar Bronfman, Jr., Warner Music wasAmerica’s largest record company, with 50 labels. WarnerMusic was an early promoter of “gangsta rap.” ThroughWHEN TED TURNER, the Gentile media maverick (pictured, top), madea bid to buy CBS in 1985, there was panic in the media boardroomsacross the country. Turner had made a fortune in advertising andthen built a successful cable-TV news network, CNN, with over 70million subscribers.Although Turner had never taken a stand contrary to Jewish interests,he was regarded by William Paley and the other Jews at CBSas uncontrollable: a loose cannon who might at some time in thefuture turn against them. Furthermore, Jewish newsman DanielSchorr, who had worked for Turner, publicly charged that his formerboss held a personal dislike for Jews.To block Turner’s bid, CBS executives invited billionaire Jewishtheater, hotel, insurance, and cigarette magnate Laurence Tisch tolaunch a “friendly” takeover of CBS. From 1986 to 1995 Tisch wasthe chairman and CEO of CBS, removing any threat of non-Jewishinfluence there. Subsequent efforts by Ted Turner to acquire CBSwere obstructed by Gerald Levin’s (pictured, bottom) Time Warner,which owned nearly 20 percent of CBS stock and had veto powerover major deals. But when his fellow Jew Sumner Redstone offeredto buy CBS for $34.8 billion in 1999, Levin had no objections.Thus, despite being an innovator and garnering headlines, Turnernever commanded the “connections” necessary for being a mediamaster. He finally decided if you can’t lick ’em, join ’em, and he soldout to Levin’s Time Warner. Ted Turner summed it up:“I’ve had an incredible life for the most part. I made a lot ofsmart moves, and I made a lot of money. Then something happened,and I merged with Time Warner, which looked like the right thing todo at the time. And it was good for shareholders.“But then I lost control. I thought I would have enough moralauthority to have all the influence in the new company. If you go intobusiness, be very careful with whom you merge.“I thought I was buying Time Warner, but they were buying me.We had kind of a difference in viewpoint. Then they merged withAOL, and that was a complete disaster, at least so far. I have lost 85percent of my wealth.”“Be very careful with whom you merge.”Ted Turner’s Lesson:5its involvement with InterscopeRecords (prior to Interscope’s acquisitionby another Jewish-ownedmedia firm), it helped to popularizea genre whose graphic lyricsexplicitly urge Blacks to commitacts of violence against Whites.Bronfman purchased Warner Musicin 2004, keeping it solidly inJewish hands.In addition to cable and music,Time Warner is heavily involved inthe production of feature films(Warner Brothers Studio, CastleRock Entertainment, and New LineCinema). Time Warner’s publishingdivision is managed by its editor-inchief,Norman Pearlstine, a Jew. Hecontrols 50 magazines includingTime, Life, Sports Illustrated, andPeople. Book publishing ventures includeTime-Life Books, Book-of-the-Month Club, Little Brown, and manyothers. Time Warner also ownsShoutcast and Winamp, the very toolsthat most independent Internet radiobroadcasters rely on, and, as a dominantplayer in the Recording IndustryAssociation of America (RIAA),was essentially “negotiating” with itselfwhen Internet radio music royaltyrules were set that stronglyfavored large content providers andforced many small broadcasters intosilence. (The Register, “AOL TimeWarner takes grip of net radio,” 8thApril 2003)Disney. The second-largest media conglomerate today,with 2003 revenues of $27.1 billion, is the Walt DisneyCompany. Its leading personality and CEO, Michael Eisner,is a Jew.The Disney empire, headed by a man described by onemedia analyst as a “control freak,” includes several televisionproduction companies (Walt Disney Television, TouchstoneTelevision, Buena Vista Television) and cablenetworks with more than 100 million subscribers altogether.As for feature films, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Groupincludes Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, HollywoodPictures, and Caravan Pictures. Disney also ownsMiramax Films, run by the Jewish Weinstein brothers, Boband Harvey, who have produced such ultra-raunchy moviesas The Crying Game, Priest, and Kids.When the Disney Company was run by the GentileDisney family prior to its takeover by Eisner in 1984, itepitomized wholesome family entertainment.While it still holds therights to Snow White, the companyunder Eisner has expanded into theproduction of a great deal of socalled“adult” material.In August 1995, Eisner acquiredCapital Cities/ABC, Inc., whichowns the ABC television network,which in turn owns ten TV stationsoutright in such big markets as NewYork, Chicago, Philadelphia, LosAngeles, San Francisco, and Houston.In addition, in the United StatesABC has 225 affiliated TV stations,over 2,900 affiliated radio stationsand produces over 7,200 radio programs.ABC owns 54 radio stationsand operates 57 radio stations,many in major cities such as NewYork, Washington, and Los Angeles.Radio Disney, part of ABCRadio Networks, provides programmingtargeting children.Sports network ESPN, an ABCcable subsidiary, is headed by Presidentand CEO George W.Bodenheimer, who is a Jew. Thecorporation also controls the DisneyChannel, Toon Disney, A&E, LifetimeTelevision, SOAPnet and theHistory Channel, with between 86and 88 million subscribers each.The ABC Family television networkhas 84 million subscribers and, inaddition to broadcasting entertainment(some of it quite raunchy fora “family” channel), is also the network outlet for ChristianZionist TV evangelist Pat Robertson.Although primarily a telecommunications company,ABC/Disney earns over $1 billion in publishing, owningWalt Disney Company Book Publishing, Hyperion Books,and Miramax Books. It also owns six daily newspapersand publishes over 20 magazines. Disney PublishingWorldwide publishes books and magazines in 55 languagesin 74 countries, reaching more than 100 millionreaders each monthOn the Internet, Disney runs Buena Vista InternetGroup, ABC Internet Group, ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com,Oscar.com, Mr. Showbiz, Disney Online, Disney’s DailyBlast, Disney.com, Family.com, ESPN Internet Group,ESPN.sportzone.com, Soccernet.com, NFL.com,NBA.com, Infoseek (partial ownership), and Disney Interactive.Time Warner’s Norman Pearlstine: Hecontrols 50 popular magazines.Disney CEO Michael Eisner: Subverting theDisney legacy.6Viacom. Number three on thelist, with 2003 revenues of just over$26.5 billion, is Viacom, Inc.,headed by Sumner Redstone (bornMurray Rothstein), a Jew. Melvin A.Karmazin, another Jew, was numbertwo at Viacom until June 2004,holding the positions of presidentand chief operating officer.Karmazin remains a large Viacomshareholder. Replacing Karmazin asco-presidents and co-COOs are aJew, Leslie Moonves, and TomFreston, a possible Jew. (We havebeen unable to confirm Freston’sJewish ancestry; he has done workfor Jewish organizations and wasinvolved in the garment trade, aheavily Jewish industry, importingclothing from the Third World to theU.S. in the 1970s.)Viacom produces and distributesTV programs for the threelargest networks, owns 39 televisionstations outright with another200 affiliates in its wholly-ownedCBS Television Network, owns185 radio stations in its Infinityradio group, and has over 1,500affiliated stations through its CBSRadio Network. It produces featurefilms through Paramount Pictures,headed by Jewess SherryLansing (born Sherry LeeHeimann), who is planning to retireat the end of 2005.Viacom was formed in 1971 asa way to dodge an anti-monopolyFCC ruling that required CBS tospin off a part of its cable TV operationsand syndicated programmingbusiness. This move by the governmentunfortunately did nothing to reduce the mostly Jewishcollaborative monopoly that remains the major problemwith the industry. In 1999, after CBS had again augmenteditself by buying King World Productions (a leadingTV program syndicator), Viacom acquired itsprogenitor company, CBS, in a double mockery of thespirit of the 1971 ruling.Redstone acquired CBS following the December 1999stockholders’ votes at CBS and Viacom. CBS Televisionhas long been headed by the previously mentioned LeslieMoonves; the other Viacom co-president, Tom Freston,headed wholly-owned MTV.Viacom also owns the CountryMusic Television and The NashvilleNetwork cable channels and is thelargest outdoor advertising (billboards,etc.) entity in the U.S.Viacom’s publishing division includesSimon & Schuster, Scribner,The Free Press, Fireside, and ArchwayPaperbacks. It distributes videosthrough its over 8,000Blockbuster stores. It is also involvedin satellite broadcasting,theme parks, and video games.Viacom’s chief claim to fame,however, is as the world’s largestprovider of cable programmingthrough its Showtime, MTV, Nickelodeon,Black Entertainment Television,and other networks. Since1989 MTV and Nickelodeon haveacquired larger and larger shares ofthe juvenile television audience.MTV dominates the television marketfor viewers between the ages of12 and 24.Sumner Redstone owns 76 percent of the shares of Viacom. He offersJackass as a teen role model andpumps MTV’s racially mixed rockand rap videos into 342 millionhomes in 140 countries and is adominant cultural influence onWhite teenagers around the world.MTV also makes race-mixing movieslike Save the Last Dance.Nickelodeon, with over 87 millionsubscribers, has by far the largestshare of the four-to-11-year-oldTV audience in America and is expandingrapidly into Europe. Mostof its shows do not yet display theblatant degeneracy that is MTV’s trademark, but Redstoneis gradually nudging the fare presented to his kiddie viewerstoward the same poison purveyed by MTV. Nickelodeoncontinues a 12-year streak as the top cable network for childrenand younger teenagers.NBC Universal. Another Jewish media mogul is EdgarBronfman, Jr. He headed Seagram Company, Ltd., the liquorgiant, until its recent merger with Vivendi. His father,Edgar Bronfman, Sr., is president of the World Jewish Congress.Seagram owned Universal Studios and later purchasedInterscope Records, the foremost promoter of “gangsta rap,”from Warner. Universal and Interscope now belong to Viv-Sumner Redstone of Viacom: He encouragedhis lieutenant, Tom Freston, to create ahomosexual-oriented television network toadd to his media empire.Edgar Bronfman, Jr. of Warner Music, lateof Vivendi Universal. This Seagram’s liquorheir buys and sells media empires likecollectors trade stamps. His father ispresident of the World Jewish Congress.7endi Universal, which merged withNBC in May 2004, with the parentcompany now called NBC Universal.Bronfman became the biggestman in the record business in May1998 when he also acquired controlof PolyGram, the European recordgiant, by paying $10.6 billion to theDutch electronics manufacturerPhilips.In June 2000, the Bronfman familytraded Seagram to Vivendi forstock in Vivendi, and Edgar, Jr. becamevice chairman of Vivendi. Vivendiwas originally a French utilitiescompany, and was then led by GentileJean-Marie Messier. A board ofdirectors faction led by Bronfmanforced Messier to resign in July2002.Vivendi also acquired bisexualJew Barry Diller’s USA Networksin 2002. (Diller is the owner ofInterActive Corporation, whichowns Expedia, Ticketmaster, TheHome Shopping Network, LendingTree, Hotels.com, CitySearch, Evite,Match.com, and other Internet businesses.)Vivendi combined the USANetwork, Universal Studios, UniversalTelevision, and theme parksinto Vivendi Universal Entertainment(VUE).After the Vivendi-NBC merger,Bronfman used his considerable personalprofits to strike out on his own,and recently purchased Warner Musicfrom Jewish-dominated TimeWarner. The current chairman ofNBC Universal is a Gentile often associatedwith Jewish causes, longtimeNBC employee Bob Wright.Ron Meyer, a Jew, is president andchief operating officer of UniversalStudios. Stacey Snider, also Jewish,is the chairman of Universal Pictures.The president of NBC UniversalTelevision Group is Jeff Zucker,another Jew.With two of the top four mediaconglomerates in the hands of Jews(Disney and Viacom), with Jewishexecutives running the media operationsof NBC Universal, and withJews filling a large proportion of theexecutive jobs at Time Warner, it isunlikely that such an overwhelmingdegree of control came about withouta deliberate, concerted effort onthe Jews’ part.Other media companies:Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporationowns Fox Television Network,Fox News, the FX Channel, 20thCentury Fox Films, Fox 2000, andpublisher Harper Collins. NewsCorp. is the fifth largest megamediacorporation in the nation, with 2003revenues of approximately $19.2billion. It is the only other mediacompany which comes close to thetop four.Its Fox News Channel has beena key outlet pushing the Jewishneoconservative agenda that lies behindthe Iraq War and which animatesboth the administration ofGeorge W. Bush and the “new conservatism”that embraces aggressiveZionism and multiracialism.Murdoch is nominally a Gentile,but there is some uncertainty abouthis ancestry and he has vigorouslysupported Zionism and other Jewishcauses throughout his life. (HistorianDavid Irving has published informationfrom a claimed high-level mediasource who says that Murdoch’smother, Elisabeth Joy Greene, wasJewish, but we have not been ableto confirm this.) Murdoch’s numbertwo executive is Peter Chernin, whois president and chief operating officer—and a Jew.Under Chernin, Jews hold keypositions in the company: GailBerman runs Fox EntertainmentGroup; Mitchell Stern heads satellitetelevision division DirecTV;Jane Friedman is chairman and CEOof Harper Collins; and ThomasRothman is chairman of Fox FilmedEntertainment. News Corporationalso owns the New York Post and TVGuide, and both are published underChernin’s supervision. The primaryprinted neoconservativeRupert Murdoch of News Corporation: Anardent Zionist and backer of the neocons.Sony’s Andrew Lack: The Japan-basedcompany, perhaps not wanting to disrupt“American” corporate culture, has staffedits U.S. operations with Jewish executives.Melvin Karmazin, out at Viacom andcurrently oligarch without portfolio. When areporter asked the then-CBS president whyhe wanted a merger with Viacom, he said:“This is the deal I’ve wanted to make, I think,from the time I was bar-mitzvahed.”8journal, The Weekly Standard, isalso published by News Corporationand edited by William Kristol, aleading Jewish neocon spokesmanand “intellectual.”Most of the television and movieproduction companies that are notowned by the large media corporationsare also controlled by Jews.For example, Spyglass, an “independent”film producer which hasmade such films as The Sixth Sense,The Insider, and Shanghai Noon, iscontrolled by its Jewish foundersGary Barber and Roger Birnbaum,who are co-chairmen. JonathanGlickman serves as president andPaul Neinstein is executive vicepresident. Both men are Jews. Spyglassmakes movies exclusively forDreamWorks SKG.The best known of the smallermedia companies, DreamWorksSKG, is a strictly kosher affair.DreamWorks was formed in 1994amid great media hype by recordingindustry mogul David Geffen,former Disney Pictures chairmanJeffrey Katzenberg, and film directorSteven Spielberg, all three ofwhom are Jews. The company producesmovies, animated films, televisionprograms, and recordedmusic. Considering the cash andconnections that Geffen, Katzenberg,and Spielberg have,DreamWorks may soon be in thesame league as the big four.One major studio, Columbia Pictures,is owned by the Japanese multinationalfirm Sony. Nevertheless,the studio’s chairman is Jewess AmyPascal, and its output fully reflectsthe Jewish social agenda. Sony’smusic division recently merged withEuropean music giant BMG to formSony BMG Music Entertainment, now one of the world’slargest music distributors. It is headed by CEO AndrewLack, formerly president and CEO of NBC—and a Jew.Sony’s overall American operations are headed by a Jewnamed Howard Stringer, formerly of CBS, who hired Lack.It is well known that Jews have controlled most of theproduction and distribution of films since shortly after theinception of the movie industry in the early decades of the20th century. There is lessindependence, less competition, andmuch less representation of majority intereststhan a casual observer wouldthink.In 1945, four out of five Americannewspapers were independently ownedand published by local people with closeties to their communities. Those days,however, are gone. Most of the independentnewspapers were bought out ordriven out of business by the mid-1970s.Today most “local” newspapers areowned by a rather small number of largecompanies controlled by executives wholive and work hundreds or even thousandsof miles away. Today less than 20percent of the country’s 1,456 papers areindependently owned; the rest belong tomulti-newspaper chains. Only 103 of thetotal number have circulations of morethan 100,000. Anyonewilling to spend a few hours in a large library lookinginto current editions of yearbooks on the radio and televisionindustries and into directories of newspapers and magazines;into registers of corporations and their officers, suchas those published by Standard and Poors and by Dun andBradstreet; and into standard biographical reference workscan verify their accuracy. They are undeniable. When confrontedwith these facts, Jewish spokesmen customarily willuse evasive tactics. “Ted Turner isn’t a Jew!” they will announcetriumphantly, as if that settled the issue. If pressedfurther they will accuse the confronter of “anti-Semitism”for even raising the subject. NEW YORK (Reuters) -- U.S. schools lack resources and teachers to meet the demand for Chinese language and culture studies, despite the growing importance of China's economic and political relationship with the United States, according to a study released by the Asia Society on Tuesday.
The study, designed to expand awareness of the need for more classes and teacher training, questioned several dozen experts in a variety of fields to see what it would take to have 5 percent of American high school students learning Chinese by 2015.
"We are saying we have to convince the American public that globalization is here to stay. You can't hide from it and the education and policy institutions need to gear up right now, because the Chinese are gearing up to engage with us," said Michael Levine, the Asia Society's executive director of education in New York.
China has become an increasingly important U.S. trade partner. Its economy is growing at about 9 percent a year and could become the second largest in the world, after the United States, in the next two to three decades.
Levine pointed to an initiative launched by Chinese public schools in collaboration with the city of Chicago, where 2,300 inner city students are learning Chinese.
That number is expected to double in each of the next two years. Chicago has imported text books and Chinese language teachers from Shanghai.
The Asia Society plans to target philanthropists and U.S. businesses, as well as higher education and governments for funding and implementation of new language programs.
It cited a $1.3 billion U.S.-China Cultural Engagement Act that has been proposed in the U.S. Senate for training new teachers and to promote technological innovations and cultural exchanges.
Other initiatives proposed by the study include a fast track certification program for teachers, online language training programs, and new advanced placement courses to qualify students to take the College Board's first new language exams created in 45 years. The Chinese exams are due in 2006.

Interracial marriages and globalization

Generally, mixed marriages are opposed to by both sides of the mix. I think intercultural and interracial marriages are at times not accepted mainly because of ethnocentric affiliation to one’s cultural and racial background. I state this because I have seen it and experienced it in my family. I noticed how some elders in my family consider themselves superior to other groups just as they think that their culture deems itself as having a better way of life than other cultures. I contradict to them because my belief is that there is nothing wrong with marrying someone of a different culture or race. It is one’s own life, contentment, and assessment. Ask most people the question on interracial relationship and you will undoubtedly hear something about love. How this became more easy with globalization?

Westernization is Globalization.

The new century globalization is Westernization. It is this important role of technology that allows America to be viewed as dominant; one of the authors said "globalization is not a one-way street," but a better example is that globalization is like a DSL connection -- and the USA has more downstream into the rest of the world than they have upstream to us. If/When this ever begins to balance out of the USA's favor; we will seem like much less of a culturally hegemonic monster.
Currently the “happy ever after” choices are imposed to those ones who are sitting miles away and if they buy the specific product being offered on the media is portrayed as it is such thing that if you do not get it you will be suffering. The targeted audiences are children, adults and even old people. The Western way of living which includes food, medical care, cloths, makeup, and miscellanies stuff, is desired in many other, so called, globalization countries but those commodities are not affordable to any middle class or low class person. Our any class can afford “Made in China” cloths, but can there any class afford to buy “made in America” cloths!!
Looking in the bigger scope of globalization, how many other countries watch CNN for world news? Almost all, excluding the ones that are not yet have the technology. Russia does not watch any Chinese news channeled. If you are thinking that it is because of the language barrier, English has been globalize and imposed in order to succeed and compete.
Another example can be, Coke. Coke only represents slightly above 1% of ALL liquid intake (including water) of the human population of the planet. McDonalds are still not as many as ALL other restaurants. And Western-inspired pop is everywhere. What do all these products have in common? All are there for a reason: they have been aggressively pushed into the global market, for a profit. Did anybody forget that achieving maximum commercial efficiency through massive consumerism in detriment of choice is a 100% American concept? Because I did not - and that is what has taken over the world.
From a western eye it could be seen as “Globalization” but to the rest of world it can be macnalizaiton, englization, technlization…. Because western culture have become the world culture in bigger scope of globalization.
The US is increasingly relying on other nations to provide basic and important goods and services that keep our nation running. Actual production of the goods, services, and knowledge that consumers, businesses, and the military rely on are done by other nations in increasing levels. We are becoming a nation of owners, managers, and marketers that no longer know how to work the front lines. "Real Work" is not being done in the US anymore. Are we becoming "to do nothing" on the "to do" list!?

Globalization-Good or Bad?

Globalization is not purely good and beneficial or it is not fully harmful in
every aspect of it. Globalization is a neutral in all the categories such as;
economics, politics, trade, religion, and society. Globalization is the first step in
the process to make trade, communication, and language, products global or
worldwide in scope or application.
Globalization's newest cheap commodity. Your education is being devalued. The idea that globalization would only eat into "low skilled" jobs is a grand economical lie. The laws of physics are the same in India and China, but the labor rates are not. The bottom line is that education can no longer be a US comparative advantage, and politicians who pretend it is are misleading voters.
